Throwback wednesday: You know exams is near when...

Hey guys I figured I would post my old post from my old blog cuz i feel like its such a waste letting them rot in my blog. The order is decided by its page view. Hope you guys dont mind! =D
Post on the 12/11/10 (I know is that old) >.<
==============================================

1. You are eating alone as your medic friends have, quoted: no time for food. (they resort to energy bars)

2. Your medic friends who do come end up discussing whether a melted ice cream you left on the table is like a cell that undergoes apoptosis or necrosis.

3. You haven seen most of your medic friends for more than 1.5 weeks.

4. People start referring their butts as "gluteus maximus"

5. Female medic students look more..... unpresentable since they stop applying make-up. and show up with unruly hair and flip flops

6. Your friends who at least care for you wrestle your computer and paper craft box away from you and lock it in their room. (I put up a good fight but i think its kinda impossible to beat two 184cm guys (>_<))

7. There's a weird westerner wearing a bandage with the words "must win!" in Mandarin on her head in the study room

I think i need to buckle up too.

BUNNY would like to thank those who wish me luck in the previous two exams related post~
signing out. XD

I love gay tutors

As a science student, you tended to meet various kind of tutors.
Being abroad and having a notorious racial identity(be it malaysian or chinese, or even japanese, there seems to be a negative connotation for some locals), you are bound to meet some tutors who always have this hidden disgust towards you. You can feel the hostility as they make you feel like the last person to be chosen in the team.Sometimes, gender matters too, as some tutors tend to favor girls. Despite your knowledge of certain matter, it doesn't really help. At all. Well, not tat i am always well prepared to be in tat situation lol.

Its rare,  I only have 3-4 encounters (i have meet more than twenty a year i think) throughout my studies. However, it will always be an everlasting experience, and a lingering sour taste in my mouth.

Hence, i am at the point where i will never pray for good nice tutors, for me, as long as the tutors don grind me with impossible questions like any infamous doctors you see in the asian community, i already thank my lucky stars and praise the powers of the beyond.

Now, i love gay tutors.

They are witty, they are funny and mostly of all they make you feel welcomed and not intimidated.

I don know whether it's me being bias since i am playing for the same team. Don get me wrong, there are some great straight tutors, but really you cant beat a gay tutor tat sings your name and prances around the room like a pixie despite being overweight. They are not afraid to destroy their masculinity and give some of the best facial expressions you would hav hope to see from Cam in Modern Family.

Another thing is tat it makes me relieve to see wad i can become in the next 20 years. Gay, married, having two cock-spaniel and being emotionally happy like any other normal human being.

Mayb not so much abt the overweight part. (.___.)

STOP CRYING When i stick a needle into you!!!!!!

Yup.

As you know being in a obstetric wards is like being in a whirlpool of colours. You hav the joys when you welcome a new life, the sadness when there's an absence of a heart beat, the hatred when the contraction starts, the gloom when you r awaiting surgery. You really know wad kind of emotional trainwreck you will encounter until the moment you pull open the curtains and take a good look at her facial expression.

So.

My doctor asked me to take some bloods from this new patient and obviously i obliged, thinking it will b another good practice.

As both of us introduced ourselves to the patient, i was standing rdy with the kit while the doc was talking to her. Her partner was present.

Then i started to realised her tear stained face and stricken demeanor. An uneasiness started to creep within me.  To my horror, as i listen to the doc, it seemed that she just had a miscarriage.

So, the doc finished consoling her and turned to me,:"this is bunny, he will be taking the bloods for you." The couple turned and looked at me, the girl manged to feign a smile.

So, awkwardly i struggle to prepare the kit. Calm down bunny, its just like any other blood vessel, i kept telling myself.

As i put the needle in, she just so happened to start sobbing quietly. I got more and more nervous, and it certainly did not help, i cant seem to find the bloods. As i continue maneuver the tip, she suddenly wail and scream and cried and DIVED into the partners arm, while the needle was freaking still in her arms.

Shocked, i quickly redrew the needle, put a plaster on her, apologised to the couple, ran away with tails between my legs. As i found the doc, she obviously noticed my horrified expression, and she quipped:"i know its a bit mean to let you do it, but i just want you to experience tat."

Boy, tat's rough z. Welcome to the maternity wards z

I don really like science students

Hey guys, sorry for the overhaul, but i bet you guys are celebrating ching chong year anyway.

I am having my very first ski trip just to wash off the cny blues, so a bunch of us went for a cool trip filled with snow and ice.

Skiing is damn painful i tell you, but tat is now wad i wanna rant for now.

So we gathered together during the night. Everyone was complaining about being tired and we should play some mindless games.

A few proposals came and went, but there were no conclusions.

Then one of the guy brought his deck of cards, and apparently he had used them as flashcards long time ago, hence all of them had drug names on it.

So guess wad they ended up playing.

Yeap, they ended up doing  medicine charades.

"guys seriously?" you can hear me lamenting.

But no.... they were too busy guessing wad is the side effect of vigabatrin.

And i was so annoyed, i just walked off despite their pleads so that i can just curled up and read a book.

I don know if i am impolite, but man this is one reason i hate traveling with science students, especially medics. Because everything will end up being medicine this medicine that, everything will be bones and joints and wad not stuff. A lot of them like to feel smart and wad can make them feel that way? By talking abt wad they have been by harding throughout the years. I passed my exams, I want my vacation, cant we just not be that kind of ppl who cant seem to see that knowledge isnt everything? That life doesn't revolves around you?

I am a firm believer that one should not showcase wad they know unless asked. Hence, if i started to talk sciency stuff to you, its just basically i have nothing left to talk to you about.

I am quite pissed off, because they thought i was being silly, merajuk-ing if you may. But i guess in a way they are right, why i hav to force myself to immerse in ppl who is studious? I am not someone they would give a piece of themselves to, it works both ways. I should expect them to be wad i want them to be. But i am frustrated, because i feel quite alone in this. When I see ppl actually referred themselves as a games where they only play one two hours of dota and sleep before 1 a.m. I almost died laughing. I played games for days without sleep and i had tons of sony / nitendo consoles plus a mega gaming pc to boot. And i don call myself a gamer. I don label ppl who drinks a few more cups than I just because I don drink and clubbing isnt my thing. I don think that talking to science ppl is a relief because they apparently "share my level of intelligence" (seriously, someone actually told me this.)

If i wanna make a sweeping statement, I gotta say, science frens, are mostly egoistic and always have slight delusion of grandeur.

Gosh. Life is sad.

I gotta see more ppl, but being abroad, you don really hav much choice. I gotta face reality at some point.

sighh.

I gotta grow up i guess?
